Loreto Day School, Sealdah - Kolkata

Academics & Activities

Affliated to the Higher Secondary Board of Education in 1947, the school prepares pupils for the Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination) of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and the Uchcha Madhyamik Pariksha of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal. In addition to the subjects prescribed by the Board and Council syllabi, the curriculum includes, Religious Instruction (for Catholics only), Value Education, Art, Handcrafts, Choral Singing and Indian Dancing. ,Bengali as Second Language is taught from Class I. A third language (Hindi) is compulsory in Class VII and Class VIII.

The School also is recognized by the NIOS for the examinations of which it also prepares pupils. 

The education imparted is characterized by thoroughness, high principles and a freedom which helps the students to grow in responsibility, self reliance and the ability to make wise decisions. The school believes firmly that learning is not confined to the classroom so in an effort to relate their learning to life, students are taken on educational tours and occasional live-ins' when appropriate:
